Cowan is looking for a Senior SharePoint Developer/Administrator to support the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) Warfare Integration Office (N9I) Shipbuilding and Conversion, Navy (SCN) Branch in order to assist with maintaining the online Integrated Ship Management Information System (iSMIS).
The integrated Ship Management Information System (iSMIS) is a centralized Department of the Navy source of management information that provides current management information, including but not limited to, historical ships data, current battle force inventory, future years defense program and POM force projection reports. Additionally, iSMIS prepares and disseminates the yearly Ships Annual Supplemental Data Tables (SASDT) report.

Duties and Responsibilities
Work closely with the N9I SCN Branch staff and other stakeholders to ensure SharePoint solutions are aligned with the branch's goals and objectives.
Maintain iSMIS on the assigned Directorate’s SharePoint web portal, ensuring data integrity as ships and schedules are modified and ensuring workflows function correctly for additions, subtractions, and modifications to the SharePoint lists.
Troubleshoot reported application issues by identifying the root cause and implementing a permanent fix or acceptable work-around.
Diagnose and resolve SharePoint problems, as well as the ability to provide support to the appropriate user or agency.
Create custom reports within package solutions that meet the business needs of the iSMIS user community.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders from both technical and non-technical backgrounds, as well as the ability to understand complex business requirements.
Administer the SharePoint environment, including managing user and group permissions, and content.
Maintaining SharePoint custom components (e.g., master pages, forms, workflows, user controls, web parts and server-side code).
Stay up to date on the latest SharePoint technologies and best practices.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field.
Minimum of 5 years developing and administering SharePoint solutions.
Preferred experience with SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, and Power Bi, SharePoint development tools, web language (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and technologies, including MS Access, SQL, Visual Studio, and PowerShell, SharePoint security and compliance, and SharePoint performance tuning and optimization.
